Illustration for Field Day at Navy Pier, commissioned Design Museum of Chicago.
The inspiration behind this flag is the plant that gave its name to Chicago : the wild ramp, aka allium tricoccum, aka... "stinky onion!"
Shorly after I moved to Chicago in 2016, a friend of mine took me to the south side to forage some wild leeks.
It took me years to realize that it was the same plant, with its pungent smell and robust taste, that the Algonquin named shikaakwa, later morphing into "chicagou" through the french pronunciation, to finally reach its final form : Chicago.
This illustration is an hommage to the plant as a symbol of the city, tough yet resourceful and abundant. Through the years it has provided me with many opportunities, projects and friendships. I am proud to call this Chicago my home.

In 2016, before making my big move to Chicago, Carine, Max (aka my mom and brother) and I embarked on a journey to Bologna for the AngelicA Festival, an international festival for contemporary music and musical research.
Carine Masutti premiered her piece "Ho! Charon" in front of a live audience in the teatro San Leonardo, alongside France Jobin and James Hamilton for a night of total immersion in sounds and space.
Max took some photos and I was honored to create the video for this piece, a mineral journey and so much more.
TIPS to watch the video :
Make it big, watch it in a dark room with good headphones. It is very slow (that's the whole point) so brace yourself for twenty minutes of meditation.
My parents gave me my first block of polymer clay when I was 11 while on vacation. I made a brontosaurus, and its long neck miraculously kept its shape in the oven! I kept making little animals, and later ventured into doll making and jewelry. I’ve always been a big fan of little figurines, art toys and collectibles, and so I made my own. It is something I do to de-stress and I do enjoy seeing one shape evolve into another, and mixing the color into my very own blend. And of course the most satisfying is to see peoples’s reactions! I’m honored to receive so much love for these little buds. Lately I’ve been tabling at more markets, so I’ll definitely update my blog with future events. You can also find the buddies on my online store, if you click here!
He's part-cloud. He's part-fish. He’s also a mailman. His mailbag is loaded up with a continuously increasing number and variety of fruit, and it is up to YOU to memorize the order so you can make sure to deliver to the correct houses!
Character design and co-conception for a memory game, developped by Luke Morse, who also composed the soundtrack.
Deliver the correct sequence of fruits to the correct houses, and increase your memory and concentration skills.
